We Are a Nation of Citizens

Today will be a day we should all remember as a turning point in American History. April 6, 2009, our American President, Barack Hussein Obama announced at the global economic conference in Prague that "We (America) are not a Christian Nation..., we are a Nation of citizens..."

It is evident that the man the majority of Americans voted for President is not a God-fearing man, and no matter what some may say, Jesus is not his LORD and Savior. He IS NOT a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ. President Obama was not making a statement of fact, in a repentful sorrowful way. Instead he was making a Presidential announcement for all the Nations of the world to hear proclaimed, "American IS NOT a Christian Nation..." in the world according to President Obama.

And it is on this day, that our Nation has fallen from its blessing, and covering of grace, not only in practice, but in principle.

This is a very important point that must be understood. Over the course of our last decades our Christian faith has eroded, taken backseat, been denied and ignored by our citizens and leaders. But never in our 2009 years of history has our National leader, our person considered by God to be our authoritative leader ever make such a proclamation.

Though you and I may be innocent, because we did not vote for President Obama, all citizen will suffer the judgement and wrath of God toward a Nation that has publically and world-wide denounced and separated Itself from Jehovah, the one and only true God. He is God, there is no other god!

Let those of us who love the Lord, understand the gravity of this situation. Do not shrug it off or take it lightly. Do not be fooled into thinking God did not hear or see such a statement. We must fall on our face before the one true God, all those who dare to be counted among believers, and repent for our President, our Washington leaders, our greedy citizens, our guiltless debase citizens and PLEAD for mercy. We must pray for our Nation as never before.

Today is the first time in History our Nation has out-right rejected God! Duck, lay on your face and pray and let though who haughtily stand in defiance to Him be struck down in swift and certain judgment.

If you have never before prayed this prayer, please STOP this minutes and beg mercy over your family and other believers, in behalf of our Christian Ordained and Established Nation. Do not surround any spiritual ground that God has already given you. Stand firm, it is time to stand, unmovable before all and to follow His Word for a Nation that has turned their back on Him,

Listen very closely to God's Word:

Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: "I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land or send pestilence among My people,

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there fore ever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do accoding to all that I have commended you, and if you keep My statues and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom as I covenanted with David your father, saying 'You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.'

But if you turn away and forsake My statues and My commandments which I have set before you and go and serve other gods, and worship them,

then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

And as for this house, which is exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, 'Why has the Lord done thus to this land and this house?

Then they will answer, 'Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them, therefore He has brought all this calamity on them.

(2 Chronicles 7:12-22 NKJV)

God could not be any clearer in His Word that He spoke. We, true believers of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, must obey God's Word and rest in knowing that He WILL hear us, and He WILL obey His Word.

Have Faith! Believe God! Believe what He says in His Word! Stand firmly on what you read in His Word. Do not waver, be ashamed, go with the flow, put your head under the sand, think it doesn't matter, pretend this isn't happening, wait for it to blow over, consider it no big deal, figure God is loving and no longer a God of wrath!

You are responsible for your thoughts and actions. What you do or don't do really does matter and really does make a difference.

Spiritual warriors equip, prepare for battle, be on watch and in everything be in constant prayer! You have nothing to fear! Your God is El Elyon, The God of Most High. There is no other God!

  3. Thomas Jefferson said it first:
"Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting "Jesus Christ," so that it would read "A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;" the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination."
-Thomas Jefferson, Autobiography, in reference to the Virginia Act for Religious Freedom

I am saddened by your bogotry and un-christian like behacior. WHat happened to Love Thy Neighbor? What happened to do unto others? Or does that only apply to those that look and act and think like you?

  4. He was stating a fact. We are not a nation of Christians. We are a nation of people who live in one country. Christianity is just one of the many faiths that make up the USA and while we may ascribe to it's beliefs and uphold Chirst as the center of our lives, there have always been other religions practiced here among the land of the free. He may be the truth, the way and the light for us, but it is for each (wo)man to come to that understanding of his/her God and make peace with their path. Judge not, lest ye be judged.

  5. Okay, got the link from Cnn.com where he said we are not a Christian nation, Jewish nation ... etc ...

    http://edition.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/04/06/obama.turkey/

As Annonymus who posted a comment on this blog fails to realize that this nation was founded on Christian principles, just because there are other religions who live here doesn't change the Constitution and the Christian foundation.

It is because of the freedoms the men who wrote the Constitution put in this document that everyone is able to come to America and live in peace. But like anything else, there are those who want to destroy the peace and sanctity of the Constitution that provided it all in the first place.

We knew that these days would come and we must have a solid stand upon which we believe. As for me and my household, we will continue to serve the Lord!

  6. Bless you Karla, Lori and Susan! Susan thank you so much for your links. I will add them to the article when I get time! I am a fact finder also and believe strongly in getting the original context, text, etc.

As for Adriene, you don't have a clue what you are talking about. You are rat-a-tat-tatting some mumbo-jumbo that has NOTHING to do with whether or not our America is a Christian Nation. YOU are anyone else cannot re-write History. Unfortunately for you history on facts not opinions or thoughts. Calling me a un-Christian and stating I have bigotry, just further shows your ignorance on all fore-mentioned topics. It must make you feel big to throw around words and make attacks on people who you know nothing about. It will not stick to me! Love your enemies is a step deeper than but still inclusive to love you neighbor as you would have others love you, but is only followed by Love the LORD Your God with all your heart, mind and soul. You need to be able to do the first before the second, and the second is only an outpouring of how God loved you and me while we were yet still sinners and died for us on the cross. So if it helps you to be saddened by your ignorance and your opinion of me or behavior of mine, so be it.

But it is best to throw stones at your own sin, before you start throwing them at others who have different views than you.

I fully understand what Thomas Jefferson said and held to be truth, and as you noted this comment by Jefferson was in reference to the Virginia Act for Religious Freedom...it had nothing to do with our National, American, foundation. State rights are state rights, not Federally mandated, at least until recent years.

  7. Dear Anonymous,

I love how "judge not least you be judge" gets thrown around whenever one hears something they don't want to hear.

There is one Judge, Lawmaker and King! And I know, it is not me!

You totally did not understand what was written, you missed the point, the boat and everything else.

Of course, there are all different types of religion in America, and of course, acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior is a personal decision.

Maybe you missed the fact that I was not rallying non-Christians or people of other faiths to read God's Word and understand what it means based on Old Testament History and what it means to pray to our God.

The fact is America has always been a Christian Nation and no President until today has ever said anything different. As our President has does not speak as a commentator on the consensus of views in the country, He speaks as our Commander in Chief, our Authoritative Leader. While he may not understand (or he may) what being a President means and what weight his words carry not only in a temporal realm but also more greatly in the spiritual realm. He speaks forth as the leader of our country. And his statement and many more that he made today is a clear departure from America for the time since George Washington was our President in 1789.

You need an understand of the role and responsibility/covering of leaders and those in authority...you may understand better if you read the Old Testament.

  10. Some good points here, but I think we need to remember that Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world." The USA is not now, nor has it ever been, the Kingdom of Heaven. As Christians, we cannot place our hope on this world, but of course we continue to pray for our leaders. Lord have mercy.

  11. I thank God every day for a president brave enough to say what no president before him has been brave enough to say. WE ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION.

We are a nation of many religions working together everyday. That is a beautiful thing. Made possible by a God that loves us all, even those incapable of loving others.

BTW my word verification is demoses, maybe Obama is "The Moses" to lead our country out of our arrogance and egocentricity that has enslaved us for many years as a christian nation.

  12. Gretchen,

You may know a god, but you don't know who the God of the Bible is...if you did you wouldn't believe and say what you have said.

There is not a general cosmos all religions lead to one God, Jehovah! Moses was a follower of the One true God, and lead the millions of rebellious, forgetful people out of slavery in Egypt to freedom in the land God intended. But if you know the story, none of the people in the oldest generation ever got to see the promise land. God made them wait for 40 years in the wilderness until none of the rebellious forgetful, golden-calf worshiping people were living.

Christians are to love all as God loves all but not to join in agreement that all religions lead to the one true God. This idea is not beautiful or full of real peace and harmony = it is a lie.

Historically, and no one can change our historical past, We are a Christian Nation. We have received God's blessing, mercy and protection because of this fact, but no more...

Obama is leading us, but not as Moses, because Moses led as God spoke, and He taught about the one true God. You do not know history or the Bible. It might help for you to read it before you make comparisons are comments. You might learn something about who Moses and God really are.

  13. Lindy Lou,

I'm sure your vengeful, mean God works for you.

Personally, I am much happier with my loving God.

If I'm wrong and I am damned to enternal hell, I will go knowing I lived my life loving and accepting others.

If your wrong, you'll have spent your life hating and judgemental.

You don't need to respond, I have no interest to debate my beliefs as they are just that MY beliefs. And I am very happy and serene with them.

On the other hand go ahead and respond, that way you'll have the last word as I won't then respond to you.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I do not know where Gretchen gets the idea that the God of the Bible - the one True God - is hateful or vengeful. She must have gotten that idea from men and women who do not know God at all. The gospel that says that the salvation of people's souls requires faith in Christ does not represent a hateful God. It represents a God who made a way to reunite Himself with His most prized creation - mankind. The reason many people don't understand this is that they do not know where we all came from and what the purpose of life is. That is, many do not know Truth. But you see this Truth has been outlawed by the public schools under the silly and bogus "separation of church and state."

God is love. This is written in Scripture. All people are sinners and sometimes behave badly and hatefully. But God is holy and He cannot sin. He is patient, waiting for people to seek Him. Lindy is not being hateful by writing this blog post. She is one of the minority of people who actually knows what is going on right now in this world. And she is one of the most loving people you could ever know.

What Lindy just wrote to Gretchen is right and true. Why is it that people want to go on being deluded when they could be rich in Truth and why do they get so upset when someone tries to tell them the Truth? They don't have to believe it if they don't want to, but they don't need to get angry. Why do some of the liberal media spew some of the most hateful, derisive acid ever seen on innocent Christians or people that try to uphold or govern by Biblical values when they are just proclaiming Truth or engaging in meaningful dialogue? And yet, those who try to live by the 10 Commandments are ridiculed, derided as simpletons or worse, considered hateful, arrogant and bigoted. Well, God does not call Christians to be hateful or arrogant, because Scripture says that "God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble." And Christ repeatedly said that we are to love our neighbor but also even love our enemies. So how can a person ever accuse Christ or our Heavenly Father of being hateful or arrogant or whatever? Don't give up on the reality of Jesus Christ (who was a real person, lived a real life, died a real death and rose a real resurrection), the reality of a good and holy and real Creator God (go to www.answersingenesis.org) and the reality that the United States of America was born of a Christian heritage (just read the primary historical documents and the books of the people who were there when it all happened) - just because a lot of human beings have gotten things wrong and behaved badly.

  18. I'll add something else I wrote a few weeks ago during a debate with a liberal who tried to tell me that Christian conservatives are like Nazis and that the American Government wasn't founded on Christian principles:

"Now, as far as the American Government is concerned...it isn't the government's job to police people's souls and make sure everyone is pleasing GOD. The government is meant to keep order in public society by enforcing common sense rules - and all common sense rules originate from the Bible, because GOD knows us better than we know ourselves. The Founding Fathers weren't necessarily all Christians, but they did a lot of research on past laws and governments to figure out how flawed people could successfully govern flawed people, and many political theorists they took advice from (John Locke, Baron Montesquieu, Algernon Sidney, etc.) found Biblical principles to make the most sense (the Bible explains things that Plato could not!).
The Judicial, Legislative and Executive branches of our government are actually rooted in the attributes of GOD listed in Isaiah 33:22.

The government is NOT supposed to force its people to believe in a certain way. It is supposed to govern in the most effective way possible. If rulers take advice from the Bible because it works...well, that just happens to be the heritage we're stuck with."

Then when he told me the Constitution was "the most liberal document ever written", I responded:

"The term "liberal" doesn't exactly mean what it used to (with the possible exception of the liberal humanism that came out of the French Enlightenment). As Herbert Hoover said, "It is a false liberalism that interprets itself into government operation of business...true liberalism is found not in striving to spread bureaucracy, but in striving to set bounds to it...men who are going about this country announcing that they are liberals because of their promises to extend the government in business are not liberals; they are reactionaries of the United States." The socialist ideology of liberalism has moved extremely far from the roots of the word "liberal". The word "liberal" just sounds prettier and less offensive; thus it has been adopted and "conservative" represents its polar opposite.

By today's standards of liberalism, the Constitution is anything BUT liberal. Just begin with the economic perspective. After all the Founding Fathers did to fight unjust taxes (which virtually began the American Revolution), I can guarantee you they would NEVER submit to socialism. Speaking of...the pivotal conflict of the War Between The States was also taxes - more so than slavery. The South was being taxed 90%! How would you react if the government took away 90% of your income?

I don't know where the silly idea came from to compare Christian conservatives to the atheistic, evolutionary Nazis. By the way, the word "Nazi" stands for "National Socialist". They spent their time trying to exterminate Jews and Judeo-Christian traditions (trying to establish a "neutral society", perhaps?). The attempts to establish a purely Aryan race was a superficial goal that had nothing to do with morality.

Perhaps you think that Christian conservatives are bent on spoiling people's fun by establishing moral standards. Listen, this isn't rocket science...if everyone in the world suddenly became white - or black - or Asian - nothing would really change. That is superficial. But if everyone in the world suddenly became homosexual - or if every woman decided to abort every child she conceived - we would have problems. Health would rapidly decline. The human race would probably die out. That's how you can tell if something doesn't make sense and if it is dangerous.

The fights for "rights" to gay marriage and abortion are not anything like African Americans' fights through superficiality to get their rights. Liberals ought to be ashamed to even draw the comparison! Morality has a purpose. People might consider advocating abstinence to be "spoiling fun". But it has a purpose! People who truly care about others want to enforce moral values.

I would never force Christianity on anyone, but of course I wish everyone would become a Christian (though I know that won't happen). Why? Not for superficial reasons involving hair and eye color or my personal enjoyment, but rather because I care about SOULS BEING SAVED. This world is only a glimpse of what is to come. JESUS is a gentleman, however. If people keep brushing HIM aside and refuse to accept salvation, HE will step aside and not force them. But HE will also withdraw HIS protection from them at the same time. I really care about my nation and don't want it to get rid of CHRIST's protection.

It isn't picking and choosing elements of the Constitution when we evaluate what worldview dominated its creation. Just as we can tell where someone is from by the accent or language by which they speak, we can evaluate what worldview the authors of the Constitution came from based on how and why it was written.

Now, when some people argue about the 1st Amendment and "separation of Church and State", they conveniently pick and choose the part about respecting no establishment of religion (which actually refers to refusing a State-sponsored Church) and leave out the equally important part about not prohibiting the free exercise thereof. People should be able to decently respect their heritage and worldview in the classroom and office building just as much as in the Church building.

You cannot create a washed-out, neutral society because there is no such thing as a washed-out, neutral person...unless you believe like the National Socialists."

  19. We are a nation of citizens and people who should realize the Gandhian principal that we must be the peace and love we seek. Some of the verbage here is quite upsetting. Socialism is not a dirty word nor is liberal and there is only one God who goes by many names. Many of the founding fathers were actually deists not Christians and Jefferson spoke of nature's God. That is fact, not jibber-jabber. We are blessed to be a multicultural nation, not solely a Christian nation and there is strength and beauty in that.

We have so much potential to change the world if we would put aside empire and extend love and peace that is the core of most major religions and ignored by many of their followers. [Interesting isn't it that the Buddhists are about the only religion who haven't started wars.] We are spiritual creatures having a human existence and we are God's children, all of us. I rejoice in that and give thanks to God for our diverse nation.

Blessings, love, all good things in abundance to your and yours.

  20. To answer Bullet's question, "Love Thy Neighbor" is a principle, actually a command, that is the foundation of all laws that protect the citizens of this country. You are not allowed to rob or murder your neighbor or rape his wife and get away with it. That is against our national, state and local laws. You see, lawlessness is something we can understand only because the Bible first taught us these things. And if you insist that we did not get such laws from the Bible, where, then, did we get them? If left to his and her own devices, mankind would be completely lawless, because of our sin nature. We know what is basically right and wrong, only because it was in the Bible first, and we abide by governmental rules and laws for civility and order and the good of the citizens. I am not talking about minor customs that different peoples in different nations participate in that would reflect their own ideas. If you look at the 10 Commandments, I would like to know which one of them you disagree with. If you don't believe in God, then I can see why you don't want to love Him, or you would ignore that one. But other than that, which of the laws would you do away with?

    ReplyDelete
  21. People need to understand the difference between tolerating mere differences and tolerating wrong doing and how it affects an entire nation. A liberal once told me that I was having a "holier-than-thou" attitude when talking about enforcing moral standards and said that JESUS was known for "tolerance, acceptance and open-mindedness".

    Here was my response:

"Of course all of us, including myself, are guilty enough sinners to deserve the sentence to hell. But I don't beg the government to "legalize" my sins and parade them in public to excuse myself. JESUS paid the price for our sins, and if we accept HIM we can have our sins nailed to the cross and washed away. But JESUS knows the wiles of the devil in this fallen world and wants the best for us. That's why HE gives us laws to abide by for the sake of our health and sanity, and if we love HIM we will obey HIM!

If we love people, we should also want the best for them.
In this sense, Liberalism is subtly the hateful ideology, because "toleration" ends up being chains that weigh people down to their problems rather than release them. Conservatism is about overcoming problems with self-responsibility and respect for life, which are Christian roots.

The Bible says there is no temptation that we cannot resist (1 Cor. 10:13). Whether it is me being tempted to fight with one of my siblings, someone being tempted to rob a bank or have homosexual desires, or a woman being tempted to rid herself of her unborn child, we are all able to resist and repent.

Like it or not, JESUS is not some spaced out, watered down Buddha or violence craving Mohammed or Allah. HE is the KING of kings and the LORD of lords. HE didn't come to show us a new feel-good religion. HE came to be the unblemished sacrifice for our sins. The JESUS who healed people in the New Testament is the same GOD whose wrath was poured out on the obstinate Egyptians that enslaved HIS chosen people, and the same GOD who poured out fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah. HE has shown us unfathomable mercy by being the sacrifice for our salvation so we may have eternal life with HIM, but the Bible doesn't say that HE "tolerates" sin. Notice that after he healed and forgave people HE would say, "Go and sin no more". HE does not want even the wicked to die, but rather repent and live (Ezekiel 18:32).

We are given time to repent, but that doesn't mean our sins are tolerated. The LORD knows we could never save ourselves through our own doing, but HE does want the best for us and delights in those that choose to obey HIM."

    ~Amanda~

P.S. - Let me know if you see areas where I could have better conveyed my arguments. I'm trying to figure out what catches people's thoughtful attention best.

  22. To those who are unbelieving of the fact that this nation was founded on the belief in God, perhaps they should take an aerial view of the top of the Washington monument. Two words on the east side of the cap -- Laua Deo --- Praise be to God. Which God? I believe the answer can be found in the fact that the Holy Scriptures were placed in the cornerstone of that monument. These days were foretold, so we Christians should not be surprised at the apathy and antagonism that is coming our way. Christ was persecuted and killed - how appropriate that this statement comes so closely before the most important day in the life of a Christian - the celebration of the fact that He is a risen Savior - all other religions have only a grave to look to - we have a God who is with us.

The ultimate question in life is "What do you do with Jesus".

The answer will determine your future - and not the one on this earth.

    Maranatha.

    Come, Lord Jesus.

  23. Chris, Amanda and Deni,

You can never know how wonderful you are! God knows, and that is all that counts.

I sit back in awe of the way you write and describe and defend the Nation and God we are blessed to have.

Oh, how easy it is to find fault with something when you have it, but how grave it will be the day when it is no longer available.

Our wonderful country, The United States of America, is corroding before our eyes because believer's in Jesus have not stood in the victory ground both physically and spiritually that God blessed us with. I have great hope! We are not defeated, we have just began to wake up and stand up!

May this April 15, the tax tea day, be a rising call as the famous ride of Paul Revere (and his companion rider) to alert our citizens, that the war is starting and we might begin the spiritual battle today on our knees before our all powerful, all knowing, all loving Heavenly Father.

Yes, we may be called upon by Him to serve and sacrifice for the cause of true liberty to return to the United States of America. But do not despair! The battle is not lost, we are just waking up and getting ready to get on the battlefield.

Joyce Meyers is quoted to say that Satan's battlefield in our life is in our mind. Clearly anyone can see how true this is!!!! Satan has fought and won so much ground in our country because our citizens turned over the education of our population to heathens. Oh, the penalty we and our children are going to pay for our laziness and slumber. Our parents and their parents fell asleep in the watchtower.

But God, praise God, has awaken His people who are called by His Name and we are humbling ourselves and praying, and teaching our children to humble themselves and pray. God is not sleeping, He will hear our plea. He is the only promise keeper! He will hold to His Word, and heal our land, The United States of America.

If you don't believe, just wait, watch and see - Jehovah, the One and Only True God!
